About this app

Most projects don’t fail.
They fade.

You stop working on them for a few days.
Then a few weeks.
Then the idea that once excited you quietly disappears.

Project Time Machines is built to stop that.

It turns every focused work session into measurable progress on a real project — so momentum compounds instead of vanishing.

No bloated productivity system.
No endless task management.
Just log a focused work session. Move forward. Repeat.

HOW IT WORKS

• Create a Project
• Start an Op (focused work session)
• Track real time spent moving it forward
• Watch your progress compound

PTM is built for:

• Writers finishing books
• Founders delivering products
• Creators building consistently
• Students completing long-term work
• Anyone tired of starting over

If you have a project that matters, PTM helps you keep it moving.

PTM is evolving. Early users will get priority access to upcoming Pro features designed to make long-term projects even easier to complete.

Very well made, and I just love the look. Sometimes the aesthetic alone can make an app. My little tweeks I'd make: (1) sometimes it would be easier to run an op with an open ended end time, like a stop watch instead of a pre-set timer. I would prefer that then constantly going into overtime (which is also fine) (2) if I miss the timer ending because I'm absorbed in my work, it shouldn't go into lost time. It should just end, or go into OT, or even ask you which when you get back to the app

Thanks for the review, Michael! Regarding (2), this is something I've thought a lot about. I send the time into Lost Time because typically the timer ends without a response because I've wandered away, as opposed to being absorbed in work. I think a good solution will be to allow total editing of all timers after a recorded Op. Working on it!

So far so good. I agree with the reviewer that said that it would be nice to run an op with a stopwatch rather than a time limit, since I usually have no idea an open ended project task will take when I start. I also admit that these days I am paranoid about a time investment in any app in case it suddenly decides to charge me a gazillion dollars a month to use.

Fair points, Lilla! Regarding charging a gazillion dollars, no worries there. PTM will always remain completely free. We're working on a paid version, but this version will always remain free. Regarding stopwatch usage - set the timer for 1 minute, then when the time expires, select Overtime and let the timer continue until you want to stop.

I like the unique aesthetic. However, when I entered the detail for Op Focus, then I exited the app, and I went back in realising that the Focus note had disappeared, the Op Duration and the name reset to blank as well. I would prefer everything I typed in my Op to be saved automatically... I would be very appreciated if you can fix it. That would make it much more convenient. PS: Yes it would be saved after completing an Op. But what I mentioned occurred before I started the Op.

Everything should absolutely be saving automatically. That's kinda the entire point of the app. If when exiting an Op, you don't see detail, exit to your Project Card, then tap it again to see Completed Ops. If you're still not seeing your Op with all it's details, please reach out to support@projecttimemachines.com and let us fix this for you.
