ELLE was founded in 1977 with the mission of bringing Turkish women together with world fashion. The brand, which started production in a workshop in Istanbul Gedikpaşa, broke new ground in shoe retailing with its first ELLE store on Rumeli Street. The visions of its founders, Fehim Akar and Hasan Acar, soon made ELLE the center of attention of art circles and fashion lovers.

ELLE collections redefined the clothing habits of Turkish women, who play an active role in working life and modernize; introduced women to flats, loafers and boots.
