Free Document Scanner turns your phone's camera into a document scanner — and nothing else.
SCAN OR IMPORT
Capture receipts, forms, notes, or multi-page documents with Google's on-device document scanner (ML Kit), or import existing photos from your gallery. Automatic edge detection and cropping are handled by the scanner itself.
ORGANIZE
Rename documents, reorder pages, rotate pages that came out sideways, delete pages you don't need, and add more pages to a document later — all before you export anything.
EXPORT AND SHARE
Every document becomes a single multi-page PDF, in the order and orientation you set. Share it through Android's normal share sheet to email, chat apps, cloud drives, or anywhere else you'd share a file — or download it directly.
LOCAL-FIRST, NO ACCOUNT, NO CLOUD
There is no account to create, no cloud sync, and no usage analytics of our own. Every scan is processed and stored only on your device — your documents are never uploaded. The app is free and supported by Google AdMob ads (consent is requested where required, and you can change it any time from the Privacy page). Deleting a document deletes it for good; uninstalling the app deletes everything.
The only exception: the first time you scan on a given device, Google Play services may need to briefly go online to prepare the on-device scanner component. That one-time setup is handled entirely by Google Play services, not by this app. After that, scanning and everything else works fully offline.
WHAT THIS APP DOESN'T HAVE
No sign-up. No subscription. No in-app purchases. No cloud storage. No analytics of our own. Ads are shown through Google AdMob (a home-screen banner and an occasional full-screen ad when you return to the app) — consent is asked for where required, and the Privacy page in the app explains exactly what Google's ad SDK may use.
Free Document Scanner requires Google Play services and a device with at least 1.7 GB of RAM, per Google's ML Kit Document Scanner requirements.
Scan documents to PDF. Local-first, no account, with privacy-gated ads.
