TigerGenie: Focus Mode with One Tap
TigerGenie is a simple and powerful tool that helps families disconnect from phones and reconnect with each other. With one tap of a tiny NFC-enabled keychain, TigerGenie starts Focus Mode and pauses distracting apps. That physical tap creates a deliberate pause that helps break compulsive phone checking.
Whether it is family dinner, study time, or bedtime, TigerGenie helps everyone stay present by reducing screen distractions.

Why TigerGenie Works
TigerGenie uses the science of friction. A physical action (tapping the NFC tag) adds a small barrier that interrupts automatic scrolling and encourages intentional choices. Because Focus Mode starts from a deliberate real-world action, it is easier to build lasting habits.
Accessibility on Android (AccessibilityService)
On Android, TigerGenie uses the AccessibilityService API only for Focus Mode/app blocking behavior after the user enables it in system settings.
- TigerGenie listens for app/window state changes to know which app is currently in the foreground.
- During an active focus session, if a user opens an app they selected to block, TigerGenie can return the user to the Home screen.
- This service is user-controlled and can be turned off at any time in Settings -> Accessibility -> Installed apps -> TigerGenie.
- TigerGenie does not use AccessibilityService to change system settings without consent, bypass Android privacy controls, or record call audio.
- For this blocking feature, TigerGenie does not read or collect on-screen text, typed content, or passwords.
