About this app

Tile Layout Planner is not another square-footage calculator. It draws every tile and every cut before you spread thinset, so you can choose where the layout starts instead of discovering the problem at the far wall.

WHAT IT DOES
• Draws the real layout — every tile, every grout joint, every cut piece, from your actual measurements and the tile's actual size, not the size printed on the box.
• Shows the consequences of a starting point. Center a tile or center a joint, and see both results side by side: smallest cut, number of cuts, waste, boxes.
• Finds a better grid. Remove Slivers searches for an origin that kills the thin edge pieces, then tells you exactly what changed: "41 mm → 96 mm".
• Inspects any cut. Tap a piece to get the size to cut it to, what comes off each side, and a dimensioned drawing where every arm of an L-cut is measured.
• Groups identical cuts into a cut list you can work from at the saw.

BUILT FOR REAL ROOMS
• Rooms that are not square: enter four walls and a diagonal, or walk the room wall by wall, and the app reports the closure error instead of quietly squaring it up.
• Bathrooms and showers as connected surfaces — unfolded walls, so you can see whether the courses wrap around the corner or restart on each wall.
• Niches: five ways to relate the tile grid to the niche, each solved and compared, or search for a niche position that lands kindly on the joints.
• Stairs: measure each tread and riser separately, choose a nosing, get the cut schedule for the whole flight.
• Backsplashes, tub surrounds, fireplaces, curbs, shower floors with slope.

WHAT THIS APP DOES NOT DO
It plans tile geometry. It does not certify waterproofing, structure, substrate preparation, code compliance, slip resistance, adhesive suitability or movement-joint design. Industry guidance it shows (offset limits, joint widths, slope) names its source and is there to inform your decision, not to replace the manufacturer's instructions or the standard.
