About this app

You arrive at the office and WorkFlow clocks you in. You head home and it clocks you out. That's it. No timer, no sign-up, no cloud.

I built WorkFlow because I kept forgetting to track my own working hours. The apps that could do it automatically either wanted an account, a subscription, or they hid exactly that feature behind a paywall. And my working hours plus my locations on some vendor's server? No thanks.

So WorkFlow does both differently: automatic clock-in via GPS geofencing is free, and the app simply has no server. No account, no cloud, no ads, no analytics. Your data can't go anywhere because there is nowhere for it to go. I don't even know you're using the app.

How it works: you set your workplace on the map once, up to 5 places in parallel (office, home office, client sites). The app detects when you arrive and when you leave, even while it's closed. The rest shows up in your reports.

What the app does:

• Automatic clock-in/out at your workplace
• Up to 5 workplaces, each with its own radius
• Overtime balance on the dashboard: am I ahead or behind?
• Weekly, monthly, and yearly reports with a per-day target marker
• Vacation, sick days, and holidays lower your target, so days off never count against you
• Home-office days with their own hours
• PDF and CSV export for timesheets, invoicing, or taxes
• Back up your data via share sheet or straight to your phone
• Manual corrections if an event was ever missed
• Lock days so nothing gets overwritten
• Ongoing notification with live timer and a check-out button
• Home screen widget, dark mode, English and German

It's made for anyone who wants clean records without thinking about it daily: employees on flex-time, commuters, freelancers billing client hours, field workers moving between sites.

About location, explained honestly: WorkFlow collects location data to enable automatic check-in and check-out, even when the app is closed or not in use. Your location is only ever compared against the workplaces you configured, and it stays on your device. The app does not record routes and does not build movement profiles. There are exactly two places where it touches the network, both triggered by you: the address search during setup (OpenStreetMap) and your own exports.

And to be upfront: GPS geofencing is not always precise to the second. Battery optimization and some manufacturers (Samsung, Xiaomi) delay background events. That's why the app openly shows you whether tracking is healthy, warns you about known issues, and always lets you correct entries by hand.
