This just a great app and has been one of my favorites for the last ~7 years. I use it to understand historical events in terms of what else is going on in the world at that time. Great filters (e.g. only leaders, wars, science, etc.) and time ranges, which is helped by the ability to zoom. For example, find out what was going on in the rest of the world during the 100 years war. Items are linked to Wikipedia if you want more information.

Needs the ability to collapse subsections, specifically for the purpose of getting a better grasp of the continuity of the Eons, their Eras, and which Events belong to which. The current model makes it very difficult to see where each Eon or Era runs into the next, because they stretch so long down, it's impossible to view on a mobile screen.

Surreal. Whoever put this together deserves a lot more recognition. It might seem a straightforward idea: historical events all across the world arranged in a timeline. But somebody took the effort to bring it all together with a simple intuitive user interface. This is brilliant! Timleg, you know what would be more brilliant? A map interface with the events depicted on location on the map and the time range selected using a slider control. You can do it man! 😀
