About this app

Tinkrite is dictation just like at school: you listen, you write, then you correct.

HOW DOES A DICTATION WORK? Tinky, the app's reading companion, reads the text:
• once at normal speed;
• a second time slowly, piece by piece, for writing;

• a final time at normal speed, to reread and correct spelling if needed. Need a break? A simple tap lets you catch up with a few seconds of pausing.

FROM PAPER TO CORRECTION
At the end, simply take a picture of the page. Tinkrite reads the handwriting, compares it to the original text, and provides a detailed score: each error is identified, categorized, and explained—spelling, grammar, extra word, missing word. A word-by-word correction, with the reasoning behind it, not just a red cross.

EXERCISES BUILT ON DICTATION
Depending on the level, dictation unlocks bonus exercises based on the same text:

• Verb identification — infinitive or conjugated form, and in which tense
• Conjugation — the correct form for each pronoun
• Vocabulary — find the missing words before the end of the time limit
• Storyteller — three words drawn at random, a short story to invent

STORY FOR TWO
Writing isn't just copying. A dictation requires correctly writing someone else's words; a story requires your own words, and it's a completely different way of thinking. In Story for Two, you invent a story with Tinky, taking turns: a coin toss decides who starts, and if inspiration runs dry, Tinky suggests a continuation to accept or reject. The finished story receives a title and can be published in the Library, where other learners can read and react to it.

A LEVEL THAT FOLLOWS THE LEARNER
Each language starts at a CEFR level, from A1 to C2. This is just a starting point: the level evolves automatically based on progress. A daily challenge, a series to maintain, and points earned for completed work are also included.

The dictations are drawn from six themes: everyday life, nature, places and travel, people and emotions, how things work, and once upon a time.

TWO LANGUAGES
Interface and dictations are available in French and English. The app follows the device's language upon first launch and switches at any time. Both languages ​​can be used simultaneously, each at its own level.

ABOUT ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The dictations, exercises, corrections, and story continuations are generated by artificial intelligence, and the read-aloud feature uses a synthesized voice. AI can make mistakes: a score given by Tinkrite is practice feedback, not an official assessment, diploma, or certification. Corrections that appear incorrect can be reported within the app.

FREE
Tinkrite is free: no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no bank details are requested. The number of dictations per day is limited. An account is required to save results and access your work.

PRIVACY
No advertising or adware SDKs. No audience analytics or tracking SDKs, and no advertising identifiers. No age, location, or address book information is requested. Handwriting samples are deleted 7 days after correction, and the account, along with its data, can be deleted from within the app. Details are available in the privacy policy.
