About this app
Wavetally is a contraction timer and calm labor kit for the last weeks of pregnancy. Tap once when a contraction starts and again when it ends, and see how long they last, how far apart they are and how many came in the last hour.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Tap Start when a contraction begins and Stop when it ends.
2. Read the length, the time apart (start to start) and the count for the last hour.
3. When your times match the 5-1-1 pattern, Wavetally shows which parts are met, with a button to call your midwife.
A TIMER THAT STAYS OUT OF YOUR WAY
• One big Start and Stop button, easy to hit with one hand
• Edit the start time and length of any contraction, mark how strong it felt, or delete it
• The timer stays on your lock screen, with a Stop button in the notification
• Start times are saved, so the timer stays right even after you close the app or restart the phone
• Night mode turns on by itself, so the screen stays dim at 3 a.m.
THE 5-1-1 PATTERN, IN PLAIN WORDS
Wavetally only shows what your own times say: contractions about 5 minutes apart, lasting about 1 minute, for an hour. It never decides for you. If you are unsure, call your midwife or hospital.
KICK COUNTER
Count 10 movements with one big button, undo the last tap and see your daily history: how long it took and when you started. If your baby is moving less than usual, call your midwife or maternity unit straight away.
WEEKS, DUE DATE AND THE BAG
• Your pregnancy week and due date, from your due date or the first day of your last period
• A hospital bag checklist with 22 items for you, your partner and the baby, plus your own
• A short birth plan you can share
