Tipspromenaden brings the classic Swedish walking-quiz tradition into the
smartphone age.
📍 GPS-triggered checkpoints
Walk to a location — the app detects your position and opens the question
automatically when you arrive. No manual scanning, no paper slips.
❓ Quiz questions along the way
Each checkpoint has a multiple-choice question. Read it yourself or let
the app read it aloud while you keep walking. The map follows you
automatically as you go.
🏆 Live leaderboard
See how you stack up against everyone else doing the same walk. Kids love
racing for the best combination of time and correct answers.
🗺️ Create your own walks
Build a quiz walk with your own questions and checkpoints on the map.
Add images, share with a QR code — others scan and join instantly.
Drafts autosave and you can reuse positions from earlier walks.
📚 Library — discover walks
Find public walks near you, filter by category and language, sort by
distance. All organised under four tabs: Mine, Discover, Events and
Packs.
📅 Events
Host or join time-boxed events. The app shows a banner when an event
is coming up and has its own event leaderboard.
📦 Ready-made question packs
Browse and download ready-made question packs right in the app under
the Packs tab — nature, Swedish history, kids' trivia and more.
Preview the questions before downloading. You can also import your
own .tipspack files.
📴 Works offline
Lose signal out in the woods? Answers are saved locally and sync
automatically when you're back online. Question images are pre-cached.
👣 Step counting & stats
The app counts your steps during the walk. See your personal stats,
and as a creator: per-question answer distribution, average score and
average steps for your walk.
🏷️ Organise with tags
Add your own tags to saved walks and filter quickly.
🚲 Bike mode
Pick activity type Walk or Bike. Bike mode gives a wider GPS trigger
(50 m), an "approaching" warning before each checkpoint and a wider
default map zoom — tuned for longer routes on bike.
🌍 The app in 8 languages
Swedish, English, German, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, French and
Spanish. Pick manually under Settings or let the app follow your
system language.
✨ Built for the outdoors
Large buttons, high contrast, works without headphones. Voice-over of
questions. Map types: map, satellite and terrain — OpenTopoMap shows
small trails and paths. Tablet-optimised layout. Free.
