About this app
ToneLab plays a clean test tone from your phone speaker and reads the dominant frequency of nearby sound with the built-in microphone.
Generator
• Sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth from 20 Hz to 20 kHz
• Logarithmic frequency slider plus A4, C5, 100 Hz, 1 kHz, and 10 kHz presets
• Volume control that stays continuous while the tone is playing
Analyzer
• Live spectrum plot from the microphone
• Dominant-frequency readout with peak hold
• Resolution shown so you know how fine the peak bin can be
Use it to check a pitch against concert A, send a 1 kHz tone into speakers or headphones, or point the analyzer at a tone and read the strongest bin. Audio stays on the device and stops when you leave the screen.
