What you have is work, led by the Holy Spirit, that is intended to bless your walk with Christ. God has equipped us with a large group of folks working together and using their unique gifts and abilities to call us to read scripture, journal, pray, and learn more of God’s great love for us. This is the result of that work. The journal gives you an opportunity each week to focus on the themes of the Bible as God’s Word is a “lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. (Psalm 119:105) Our theme this year is The Journey. We recognize that each day we are on a journey towards God’s plan and purpose for our lives. Just like any journey we might take, we prepare for what is ahead, move to different places, create and tell stories along the way, meet different people in different contexts, and Lord willing, arrive at our hoped-for destination. This journal will guide us through that process in the year ahead. Each day, there is a key text for that day’s focus. Open your Bible and read that text in the context that it’s been given. Allow your mind to meditate on that text for a moment or two. Then allow your prayers to be focused by God’s Word. Use your own blank journal to record your thoughts, your prayers, the people that are in your heart, the dreams you have, and the challenges that you will face. As you journal, you will create a record of God’s work in you this year. You can revisit previous entries and see how Christ has shown up and the Spirit has moved in your life! The discipline of journaling your prayers and thoughts can build your conversation with the Spirit and bless you in your walk with him. Each journal entry has a daily devotion — both in text and audio — that dives more into the text and equips you to think more deeply about what you are reading. And there are theme songs of the week put together to give you a space of worship in song. We hope you are blessed this year in a deeper knowledge of God’s Word and in the encouragement that comes through living as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Blessings on the year ahead.
