BookMemory is a reading journal for the books you actually read.
It is not an ebook reader. It holds no book files and shows no book text. What it keeps is everything around the reading: the time you spent, the pages you crossed, the lines worth copying out, and the thoughts a book left behind long after you closed it.
Most of us finish a book and, a year later, remember only that we liked it. BookMemory is built to fix exactly that.
YOUR LIBRARY
Add a book in seconds — title, author, page count, and a cover photo from your gallery if you want one. Move books between Want to read, Reading, Finished and Abandoned as your life actually goes. Everything you add is yours to edit, archive, or delete, and deleted items wait in Trash instead of disappearing on you.
READING SESSIONS
Start a session when you sit down, stop it when you get up. BookMemory records how long you read and how far you got, then asks the one question that matters: what stayed with you? Log a session later if you forgot to start the timer — the app fits around your reading, not the other way around.
NOTES, QUOTES AND MEMORIES
Capture a quote, a reaction, a passage that stung, or a photo of the page itself. Entries live with the book that caused them, so re-opening a book years later gives you your own reading back, in your own words.
READING CALENDAR AND INSIGHTS
Every square is a day you opened a book. See days read, time spent, pages covered and books finished, month by month, and tap any day to read what you wrote on it. Progress you can see, without turning reading into a scoreboard.
HOME SCREEN WIDGET
Your current book, on your home screen, one tap from starting a session — on both Android and iOS. Small enough to be a nudge, quiet enough not to be a nag.
GENTLE REMINDERS
Optional reminders help you keep a reading habit. Turn them off and the app will never ask twice.
WORKS COMPLETELY OFFLINE
BookMemory is offline-first, not offline-tolerant. Everything is stored on your device and everything works with no connection at all: adding books, timing sessions, writing notes, browsing your history. There is no loading spinner between you and your own library.
Sign in and your data syncs to your account and backs itself up, so a new phone does not mean starting over. Do not sign in and the app still works in full — as a guest, nothing is ever sent anywhere. That is a design decision, not a limitation.
HOW PEOPLE USE IT
- Finish a chapter on the bus, log four minutes and one line, and keep the streak honest.
- Re-read your own notes before a book club instead of re-skimming the book.
- Look back at a hard month and find the three books that carried you through it.
- Decide what to read next by seeing what you abandoned, and why.
MADE WITH CARE
- Light and dark themes that follow your system
- Clean, quiet design that stays out of the way of the words
- Your library, your notes, your photos — no ads, no feed, no social pressure, no reading targets shouting at you
- Delete your account and your data from inside the app, whenever you want
BookMemory is for the reader who keeps a shelf, not a scoreboard; who underlines, dog-ears, ll that. Start with the book on your nightstand tonight, and in a year you will havesomething no reading app can give you retroactively: a record of what you read, and who you were while reading it.
Remember every book you read.
