About this app

This application is designed for Malaysians to send emergency request for cases specifically related to Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM).

SaveME 999 POLIS application utilizes the internet broadband to transmit the text messages. In addition, it also uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) in smart phones to identify the location of the user.

Users can activate the application by pressing the ‘SaveME 999 POLIS’ icon on the smart phone. The GPS address and the sender’s details such as name, telephone number, type of emergency and registered address of the sender will be transmitted automatically to MERS 999 Response Center(MERS 999 RC).

Additional information about the incident and location detail can be added in the message. This information will assist PDRM to send the required help fast and accurate.

There is a ‘Preset Location’ function to this application which enables the user to add the addresses of their familiar places such as home, office, parent’s house or any other important place. If an emergency situation occurs at one of the Preset Location, user can just quickly choose the location from the preset list and send the emergency request.

Good effort by the authority. However, please improve the user friendliness of the app by adding the quick choose button for accident type such as robery, thief, car accident, kidnapping, fighting, feel unsafe, suicide attempt, suspicious behavior by vehicle or human, and etc so that people know what category cover by the police. It also make it quicker for them during emergency rather than need to type the full things.

For those had problem entering IC number pls check there is no space or empty space by press back key on your phone keyboard. I also encounter same issue not able to save my profile and it keep asking to provide 12 digits IC number, I then found out that there are space at the beginning and at the end of the number that I key in. After clearing the spaces it proceed to save. Good Luck!

Location capture very weak if you are indoor (no detection at all). It should be able to use both GPS and mobile network positioning (H+,2G, 3G, 4G or 5G) to determine at least approximate location. Emergency can occur indoor where victims doesn't know where he/she is. Please upgrade.
