About this app

This app lets you check which payment method offers the highest reward rate at nearby stores.

■ This app solves these problems:

・Credit cards, QR payments, e-money... I have them all, but I'm always unsure which one to use.

・Even at the same convenience store, the reward rate varies greatly depending on the combination of supported cards and QR codes.

・I'm registered with multiple e-commerce platforms (Rakuten / PayPay / d / au / V Point), but I don't know the best solution for each situation.

・I'm hesitant to use a household budgeting app that links to my bank account.

→ TokuPay creates a database of "Category × Payment Method = Reward Rate" and suggests the highest reward rates from your available payment methods.

■ How to Use in 3 Steps

1. Select your "available payment methods" during onboarding.

2. Select a category on the home screen (Convenience Store / Supermarket / Pharmacy / Restaurant / E-commerce, etc. - 15 types)

Alternatively, if you allow location information, the app will automatically determine the category from nearby stores.

3. The Top 3 reward rates will be displayed. Choose and use payment methods with high reward rates.

・Supports over 20 payment methods (major credit cards, QR code payments, and e-money)

・Optimized for 15 categories (convenience stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, e-commerce, transportation, etc.)

・Proof of each reward rate is disclosed via a link to the official website — verifiable comparisons

・Incorporates campaign information (rules updated weekly)

・Savings report — records and visualizes reward amounts from usage records

・OCR assistance function — AI (Gemini) extracts store name, amount, and category from receipts (free up to 3 times a day)

■ Privacy and Security

・No bank account linking whatsoever. Only information on "which payment methods you have" is provided.

・No email address or password required. Completely anonymous use with UUID
• Data is stored using Cloudflare's encrypted communication
• Both device and server can be reset at any time via "Settings → Delete All Data"
• OCR images are used for inference only and are not stored on our servers

• Basic functions: Completely free (reward rate comparison, category selection, location detection, savings report)
• OCR (receipt scanning): Free up to 3 times per day
• The free version displays banner ads
• Premium plan: ¥480/month — Unlimited OCR, ad-free, detailed reports

■ Why we created it

Japan's cashless payment system is a complex interplay of credit cards, QR code payments, e-money, and point systems, making it impractical to calculate the optimal choice every time.

Tokupay achieves sustainable reward rate comparisons focused on less volatile areas by creating a database of "category x payment" combinations.
