a lot of it is premium and I have not bought that so I can't rate the whole AP, but the free parts are really cool! very similar methods to Duolingo in app interface, but much more useful words and logical learning order. only issue I'm having is that on the "is this the word that was signed" questions, half of "yes" and "no" are cut off, but you can still see the thumbs up/down button so it's fine. just might need that info if you end up with the same issue :)

ASL Bloom is a fine app for beginners wanting to cram a lot of vocabulary. My overall impression of the app is that it is lacking in engagement. The curriculum lacked context and felt very rote. I finished the curriculum in under two weeks. Lingvano is another Sign Language app that offers more in depth lessons about hand shape, movement, placement, expressions, and body language. They tie concepts together in a context that makes the language make sense.

This app makes learning ASL very easy for beginners, similar to the approach DuoLingo takes.. I was glad to finally find a free ASL learning app! It makes you go in order of the lessons, rather than starting with a diagnostic to see where you are in your fluency. I went in order and the lessons seemed like they'd be helpful for a beginner, but most of it was like a re-cap for me. But after the first few basic lessons, you have to buy the app to learn anything. Lots of potential but disappointing

What's new

This version contains the first iteration of a new feature, where we group signs by topic (alphabet, family, etc). All users can browse these collections, and premium users also get access to quizzes and flashcards based on any given collection. To test this new feature, click "Signs" in the bottom navbar. Future iterations will:

- Cover more topics (and cover individual topics more thoroughly)
- Enable users to make their own collections
