Driftless is a gentle time-awareness app for ADHD brains, hyperfocus, and
anyone who loses track of time.
It does one thing well: it plays a soft sound at a set interval so you feel time
passing without checking a clock or setting an alarm. Say "I'll do this in 30
minutes" and, after two soft pings, you just know 30 minutes have gone by. No
countdown, no buzzer, no pressure. A quiet nudge to snap out of hyperfocus and
notice the hour.
WHO IT IS FOR
- People with ADHD or time blindness who cannot feel time slipping away.
- Anyone who hyperfocuses and resurfaces hours later.
- Students, remote workers, and makers who want a calm sense of pace.
- Anyone who hates alarms but still needs to stay on track.
HOW IT WORKS
- Pick an interval: every 10, 15, or 30 minutes.
- Choose your sounds: a main ping, an alternate ping that marks longer stretches,
and an optional hourly marker.
- Press start and get back to work. Driftless runs quietly in the background and
pings on time, even with the screen off.
- A clean 60-minute clock dial shows exactly where each ping lands in the hour.
WHY IT IS DIFFERENT
- It is not another focus timer or Pomodoro app. No countdown, no deadline, just
an open-ended, ambient sense of time.
- The sounds are soft and varied, so the 15-minute mark sounds different from the
30-minute mark. You can tell them apart by ear.
- Dark, low-distraction design that stays out of your way.
FEATURES
- Three built-in sound packs: Original, Retro, and Calm.
- Use your own ringtone sounds if you prefer.
- Alternate and hourly markers so longer intervals are easy to hear.
- Optional play-through Do Not Disturb, if you allow it.
- Works fully offline.
