About this app

Lux Meter turns your phone into a simple light meter. Using your device's built-in ambient light sensor, it measures the brightness around you in lux (lx) in real time.

What it does
• Real-time lux reading from the hardware light sensor
• Environment guide: tells you whether the light is dark, comfortable, or bright
• Session statistics: minimum, average, and maximum lux
• One-tap reset to start a new measurement
• Clean, easy-to-read display with light and dark themes

Where it helps
• Photography and video: check lighting before a shot
• Indoor plants: see if your plants get enough light
• Home and office: check if a room is bright enough for reading or work
• Sleep environment: confirm your bedroom is dark enough
• Study and teaching: a hands-on way to understand illuminance

How to use
1) Open the app — measuring starts automatically
2) Point your phone toward the light you want to measure
3) Read the lux value and the environment label
4) Tap reset to clear the min / avg / max statistics

Important
• This app requires a device with an ambient light sensor. Most phones have one, but some budget or older devices do not. If your device has no light sensor, the app will tell you and cannot measure brightness.
• Readings are taken from the hardware sensor for general reference. Accuracy varies by device and sensor placement, so values are best used as a guide, not a calibrated laboratory measurement.

Privacy
• The app measures light only on your device. No light data is uploaded or shared.
