You start in 2006 with $250,000. Classic is twenty-five years. Career is thirty. Each year a desk of deals lands in front of you — property, equities, bonds, businesses, crypto, venture, the occasional sports window.
Idle cash earns the going rate. Generous before the crisis and after 2022. Almost nothing in the ZIRP years. Bills inflate every close. A 4% paper gain can be a real loss.
Independence is $2.5 million net or $100k passive. The book marks $500k and $1M. $2.5M is the trailer.
