About this app

Simple. Solid. Uncluttered.
TouchGuard locks screen touches with a single gesture — hold both volume keys for about a second. No big floating button on screen, no app to launch, no waiting. Once set up, it works like a built-in phone feature, even after a phone restart.

WHY VOLUME KEYS, NOT A BUTTON
Most screen-lock apps put a giant draggable button on top of your screen. It blocks your content, gets in the way, and — most importantly — it stops working in many apps. Fullscreen video, fullscreen games, camera apps, trading platforms — exactly the apps you most want to lock are where their lock breaks down.

TouchGuard takes the opposite approach: zero on-screen controls. The volume-keys gesture works in every app — fullscreen, immersive, kiosk, doesn't matter.

HOW IT WORKS
Hold both volume keys for about a second to lock. Your video keeps playing, your music keeps streaming, downloads keep going, navigation stays on — only screen taps are blocked. A small red lock badge appears at the bottom corner so you always know the state.

Hold both volume keys again to unlock. That's the entire control surface — one gesture, two outcomes. Nothing to drag around. Nothing to mis-tap.

Set up once, use forever. The lock works even after a phone restart, even if you never open the TouchGuard app again.

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE — WHY WE USE IT
TouchGuard's core function — detecting your volume-keys gesture while any app is open, and blocking screen touches while locked — is built on Android's AccessibilityService API. This is the only Android-supported way for an app to receive key events and intercept touches without taking over the screen.

The service runs only to do those two jobs:
1. Listen for the both-volume-keys hold gesture so you can lock and unlock from any app, including fullscreen video and games.
2. Consume tap events while the screen is locked so they don't reach the app underneath.

What TouchGuard does NOT do with the service:
• We do not read screen contents.
• We do not capture text, passwords, or keystrokes.
• We do not record what apps you use.
• We do not transmit anything anywhere — TouchGuard has no internet permission.

You enable the service yourself in Android Settings during one-time setup, and you can revoke it at any time from Settings → Accessibility.

WHEN YOU'LL USE IT
• Workouts and floor exercises: phone stays on, taps stay ignored.
• Phone in pocket: no more pocket-dialed calls or accidental music skips.
• Kids and toddlers watching videos: they can't accidentally close the app, swipe to a paid game, or call your boss.
• Cleaning your screen: wipe it down without launching apps or replying to texts.
• Watching a recipe video while you cook: greasy fingers can't pause it.
• Reading e-books or comics on the train: stop a bumpy ride from flipping pages.
• Showing a photo or document to someone: they can see, but can't swipe to the next picture.
• Fullscreen video, dashboards, kiosk apps: locked the same way as every other app.

PRIVACY
No tracking. No ads. No account. No internet permission.
TouchGuard uses Android's Accessibility Service (to detect the volume-keys gesture and block taps while locked) and the "Display over other apps" permission (to show the small lock badge). Nothing else. We do not read your screen, capture text, or send any data anywhere.
