Instantly rent a car by the hour or day with the Hui Car Share app. In the Hawaiian language, “Hui” means club or community. You, as a part of our community, will have access to Hawaii's largest network of shared vehicles, including 170 cars, trucks and SUVs at 65 locations across Oahu. Find us in neighborhoods like Waikiki, Ala Moana, Kakaako, Manoa, Downtown Honolulu and Kaimuki.

How Hui Works:
RESERVE - Open the Hui app and select the location, date and time for your
reservation. Then, view available vehicles near you.
DRIVE - During an active reservation, your smartphone becomes your digital key to unlock and lock the vehicle. Push to start and off you go!
RETURN - Park your vehicle in its reserved spot at the station location where you picked it up. Lock the vehicle and end your reservation. Your account will
automatically be billed for the time you booked.

Ratings and reviews

Great service, annoying app. I get notifications for "welcome back" days after I returned the car and ended the reservation. Takes an embarrassingly long time to connect to the car to unlock it. I also get a blaring alarm on my phone saying "please turn engine off before leaving" when the engine is most definitely off. That one is pretty bad because I can't turn the alarm off until I run back to the car. The service is great and I use it often, just needs work on this app.

I cannot even create the account through the app, keep giving the error message "Sorry something went wrong, please try again later". I tried a couple different days and time, still the same error. The customer service no help at all, they was only collecting my information and said that someone will call back, no call back as well. Now I think I shouldn't expect much on this kind of service.

It's really hard to filter cars by time in this app - if I want to rent a car from 9am-2:30pm, I have to click through each location, scroll through to set the time, and check availability. If there are no cars available, then I need to click on a different location, RE-SELECT the time 😩 (because the app resets to a 30min rental slot) and repeat. And then do this for every car rental location. I don't care how far the car is, I want to know where the rental period I want is available!!
