About this app

TRACE NDT is the phone companion to TRACE, the compliance and operations platform for nondestructive testing (NDT) firms. It puts the field side of the work on the phone, so the record gets made at the equipment, at the vault and on site, instead of remembered at the end of the week.

You need a TRACE account to use this app. Your firm sets up your login on the TRACE website; there is no sign-up in the app. Sign in with the login you already have, with the same second sign-in step, and you see exactly what you would see on the web. What appears depends on your role and on the parts of TRACE your firm uses.

FOR TECHNICIANS
• Your certifications, due dates, compliance items and documents, in your pocket
• Tool checks on the equipment you are standing at
• For radiographers, the source log: check a camera out at the vault and back in where it happens
• Clock in and out of your jobs, log hours, and book overhead time or a day off
• Job details: the site, contact, crew, equipment and the files shared with the crew
• Job safety analyses written at the truck, before the work starts
• Field reports on your jobs, photos included, on your firm's report forms
• Charge sheets, with the customer's signature taken on the phone before you leave site
• Take the courses your firm assigns: read and watch the lessons, then sign off
• Your training assignments, assigned certification tests, HR paperwork and time-off requests
• Scan the QR code on a traveler to open it

FOR THE OFFICE
• The jobs list with the same sorting, grouping and filters as the web
• Edit a job's status and milestones, sign off hours and add expenses
• Open a new job from the field
• Boards and cards, tasks, companies, contacts and deals
• Sign a toolbox talk's crew in at the tailgate
• Photograph a receipt, a document or quality evidence straight into TRACE

FOR EVERYONE
• Chat with the people in your firm
• Push notifications with the same reminders as the bell in TRACE, such as a certification coming due. If you work for more than one firm, each one says which firm it is about.

WORKS WITH NO SIGNAL
Tool checks, source log entries, job safety analyses, hours, field reports, charge sheets, toolbox talks and receipts made out of signal are kept on the phone and sent once there is signal again. The app shows what is still waiting to send. Clocking in on a job and the customer's signature need a signal.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• The same access rules as the website: each person sees only what their login allows
• Optional app lock with your phone's fingerprint or face unlock
• Sign in with a passkey if your account has one
• Location is read only when you tap Clock in, and only if your firm has turned that on
• No ads

CUSTOMERS OF NDT FIRMS
If an NDT firm gave you a client login, you can sign in on the phone to see your own company's records.
