About this game

Trio Math is arithmetic played as territory.

Place a numbered tile so that three squares in a row make a sum that works —
4 + 2 = 6 — and all three become yours, including any your opponent was
holding. A line reads from either end, so + and − always come together, and so
do × and ÷.

Your score is squares owned. Never the answer to the sum. One well-placed tile
can turn five squares at once.


WAYS TO PLAY

• Play online, live — 45 seconds a turn against a real person
• Play online, relaxed — a day a turn, up to three games at once
• The Daily Board — three puzzles a day, the same three for everybody on
earth, replaced every 24 hours
• Story — seven chapters, from adding on a small board to the full game on a
nine by nine
• Free Play — your rules: board size, which operations count, how hard the
opponent thinks
• Training — nine lessons that read every step aloud, for players still
learning to read


A SEASON WORTH CLIMBING

Every match and every Daily Board moves you along the Road, from Bronze
through Silver to Gold. Points are earned by playing, not by paying, and
beginners earn three times what leaders do — so somebody who starts late can
still catch up.

Seasons run a month. The top hundred in the world keep a title for good.


BUILT TO BE FAIR

Both players are dealt the same four tiles and draw from one shared bag. There
is no second bag and no better bag. Whatever separates two scores is what the
two of you did with an identical opening.

We measured it rather than assuming it: 10,200 games, each deal played twice
with only the turn order changed. With the half-square compensation the result
is 50.3% against 49.7%. Level.

Finished games are replayed on our server against the same rules the game
uses, so a score that could not have happened can be found.


NO ADVERTS. NO PURCHASES. NO TRACKING.

There is nothing to buy and nothing is sold about you. No advertising, no
analytics, no third-party trackers of any kind.

Signing in is optional — the whole game works without an account. Free Play,
Story and Training all work with no connection at all.


SAFE TO PLAY WITH STRANGERS

There is no free-text chat. Emotes and phrases come from a fixed set, so
nothing anyone types can reach another player except a display name, and those
are filtered. Any opponent can be reported or blocked from their card during a
match.

You can delete everything the game holds about you from Settings, at any time,
without asking us.


Trio Math is free, offline-friendly, and suitable for anyone who can add.
