About this app

Notelock is a private notes and to-do app that keeps everything on your own phone, behind a PIN. Write notes, tick off tasks, get reminders — with no account, no sign-in and no cloud.

Most notes apps ask you to hand your thoughts to a server. Notelock does not have one. Your notes, tasks and settings live in an encrypted database on this device, and the app works with no internet connection at all.

WRITE ANYTHING
- Plain notes or tick-box checklists, whichever the moment needs.
- Headings, bold, italic, bullets and numbered lists.
- Ready-made templates for meetings, journals and shopping lists.
- Colour-code your notes and file them with tags.
- Connect ideas: type [[a note title]] to link two notes, and see every note that links back.
- Version history, so an earlier draft is never really gone.
- Archive notes to clear your list without deleting, and a Trash that lets you undo a delete.

STAY ON TOP OF YOUR DAY
- Add a task in plain English — type "Call the dentist tomorrow 5pm urgent" and the date and priority are filled in for you.
- Due dates, priorities, sub-tasks and repeating tasks.
- Put a reminder on any note or task and get a notification when it matters.
- A daily digest that tells you what is coming up.
- A focus timer for getting one thing finished.
- A Today screen for what is due, overdue and recently edited.

LOCKED, NOT JUST HIDDEN
- A PIN opens the app. Fingerprint and face unlock are optional.
- The app can re-lock the instant you switch away from it.
- Lock a single sensitive note so it stays hidden even inside the app.
- Note content is blurred in the app switcher, and screenshots can be blocked.
- Reminders can be set to reveal nothing on your lock screen.
- Everything is stored with AES-256 encryption on the device.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no data collection.

YOUR DATA, YOUR MOVE
- Export every note and task to one password-protected file, and import it to restore or move to a new phone.
- Because there is no cloud sync, that export is the only way your data leaves the device — and only when you choose to make it.

TOOLS THAT DO THE BORING PART
- Working offline with no account needed: summarise a note, suggest a title, suggest tags, pull out action items, find dates and turn them into reminders, tidy up spacing and capitalisation, turn text into a bullet list or a checklist, and show word count and reading time.
- An assistant screen where you can search your notes and create notes, tasks and reminders just by typing what you want.
- Optional cloud writing tools are turned off by default. They work only if you paste in your own API key from a third-party AI service you have signed up for and pay for separately. Notelock does not provide, include or sell a key, and nothing leaves your device unless you add one and use those specific tools.
