About this app

Formerly TripTally: same app, new name. Your records carry over.

Log every business mile, see what you really take home, and know your quarterly tax before it's due. No account, no sign-up, no card. Works alongside your driver apps.

FREE, FOR AS LONG AS YOU WANT
• Unlimited GPS trips: tap Start, lock your phone, and every mile is counted
• Today shows what you kept: take-home after expenses and the tax set-aside, filling a daily goal you choose
• Log the pay after each trip on a big keypad; miles and trip time are filled in
• Your full history: every trip, earning and expense, from day one
• Your apps: as many as you drive for, including your own
• Garage: every car, odometer photos and your business-use share
• CSV export of everything, including a mileage log with the details IRS Publication 463 asks for
• Receipt photos on any expense; backup to a file or your own Google Drive
• Floating bubble on top of your nav or driver app
• Dark or light, in English, Spanish, Korean, Tagalog, Vietnamese and Chinese

EVERY TRIP AT THE RIGHT IRS RATE
The IRS changed its mileage rate mid-2026. DayHatch prices each trip at the rate in force on the day you drove it. Rates back to 2022 are built in, for imported history too.

QUARTERLY TAX, WORKED OUT
DayHatch estimates self-employment, income and state tax for each quarter, line by line, and links each line to its source. Mark an IRS payment as paid and its reminder stops.

YOUR CAR, YOUR ODOMETER
Add every car you drive. Your odometer at the start and end of the year (typed in, photo optional) gives your business-use share, with reminders on Dec 31 and Jan 1. Name your car's Bluetooth once and trips that start while it's connected go to that car.

DAYHATCH PRO
• Auto-start: trips start and stop with your car's Bluetooth or Android Auto
• Receipt scanning: the app reads the merchant and total for you
• Recurring expenses: phone, insurance and subscriptions logged each month
• PDF tax report and PDF mileage log
• Trends: your best days and hours, take-home per hour
$4.99/month or $29.99/year. Starts with a 14-day Pro trial: no card, nothing to cancel. When it ends, the free features keep working and nothing is deleted.

EXACTLY WHAT GOES OVER THE NETWORK
No DayHatch servers. Your trips, earnings, expenses and receipts are stored on your phone. The app goes online only for these:
• Google Play: subscriptions (managed by RevenueCat, which checks your Pro status with an anonymous ID when the app opens) and Play's rating prompt.
• Google Drive backup: only if you sign in to your own Drive (if Google's sign-in fails, a mytriptally.com page finishes it); then it backs up automatically (you can switch that off). Or back up to a file.
• Maps: routes are drawn on your phone, offline. Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap only if you turn real maps on.
• Feedback: goes through your own email app, and only if you press Send.
That is the list. Receipt scanning reads the receipt on your phone and sends nothing.
