Some of the negative reviews had me needlessly concerned, and I think I know what some folks' problem might me. Tapping on the emojis merely selects them. You must then tap on the checkmark to insert them. It works great for me on my stock S9+ under Oreo, so I was glad to buy the app for such a reasonable price.
