I really wanted a C64 synth I can use on the fly, and this is literally perfect. For being free, this program is beautiful. The only bad things about it are my own personal issues with touchscreen (I like mouse and keyboard much better), but that's just me. Emulation is a bit off, but I like it. Combining a triangle wave and a pulse with a modulating pulse width creates a much different sound than on the actual SID, but I like this program's sound more because you can do more with it. 5 stars.

Very enjoyable, very fun! Sounds great, has all the SID functionality and then some. But the main thing it sorely needs is the ability to export .sid files... That would be amazing. I hope this app hasn't been given up on. There needs to be more legit chiptune trackers designed for smartphones like this! Also, it won't playback if i switch from speaker to headphones to Bluetooth etc. I have to restart the app everytime i plug in or unplug my headphones. Also, not overwrite other files on save.

Thanks for the feedback! If you need .sid export, check out GTMobile ā my C64 SID tracker based on GoatTracker 2. Song files are fully compatible with GoatTracker 2 on desktop, which can export to .sid.

I really had to let go of my preconceived ideas on sequencers and think in terms of programming a 3 voice sound chip. I think the revelation hit when I realised you could switch instruments on a single voice, in a single sequence, as composers did on real hardware to get the most out of the chip. It helped that I already knew a little about the SID, its spec and how composers used it. It might benefit from a structured tutorial, rather descriptions of the various components.
