The 2-Minute Manager is an online football manager game that has been around since 2005. You start with the goal of being promoted to the top league of your chosen country and later winning national and international cups.
During the day, you manage your team: setting up the lineup, training, and occasionally transferring players. All matches are automatically analyzed every night at 3:30 AM.
- Season length: approx. 3 months
- League matches: every two days
- Interim fixtures: cup matches, Eurocup, and Champions Cup
The name says it all: Generally, less than two minutes a day is enough to optimally prepare for the next opponent and set up your team – without sacrificing the full depth of football management. This keeps the daily effort minimal – yet allows you to build a successful team in the long run. Many managers have been playing for over 20 years.
The 2-Minute Manager offers a total of 62 countries – 52 in Europe and 10 in South America. Each country has its own league system, from League 1 to League 5. From League 3 onwards, there are several parallel divisions, for example, League 3.1 and League 3.2, or League 4.1 to League 4.4. A total of 288 teams per country participate in the league.
In addition to the national leagues, there are two major cup competitions: the Championship and the National Cup. At the international level, the best teams compete in the Eurocup and the Champions Cup. The number of teams from a country participating in the Eurocup or Champions Cup depends on the country's ranking in the five-year UEFA coefficient – much like in the real world of football.
In 2-Min-Man, in addition to club teams, there are also national teams. These are coached by dedicated users who are willing to invest a little more time. The national coaches draw on the players from their country's clubs and assemble the strongest possible squad.
Every two seasons, the national teams compete against each other in a World Cup – after first having to go through the World Cup qualifiers. The national coach is elected by the other managers of his country.
