🌡️ Hookar Finnik is a heat bench for your phone. You build a plate out of real materials, set how its edges behave, press run and watch the heat spread across it.
🧱 Paint copper, aluminium, steel, granite, glass, cork and other materials onto a square plate. Pin a hot or cold temperature to a spot, place probes, and run the simulation. The plate is coloured by temperature, with contour lines that crowd together where the heat changes fastest.
⚙️ How it works
🧩 Start from one of eight ready-made plates, such as Heat Sink Fins, Copper Bridge, Cork Break or Two Rivers.
🖌️ Choose a material and a brush size, then drag across the plate to paint.
🌡️ Set each edge to insulated, fixed temperature or ambient air.
▶️ Press Run, Step or Settle, and reset the plate whenever you like.
🎚️ Change the simulation speed, the isotherm spacing and the start temperature with sliders.
📈 Follow probes A, B and C on a live temperature chart.
💾 Save your own plate with Save as.
📋 Runs log
Every run is logged with the time it took to reach steady state, the heat flowing in and the balance error. Open a run to see its probe curves, a temperature profile along a cut, and a flow chart that shows where the heat went. The log keeps the newest 40 runs.
🎯 Briefs
Six short briefs set a goal, such as making a probe settle between 47 and 53 degrees. You paint only the allowed materials within a cell budget, press Check, and earn up to three marks. Use fewer cells to score higher. A hint unlocks after two failed checks.
📚 Materials and guide
The materials list shows conductivity, heat capacity and diffusivity for each material, and how long heat takes to cross one centimetre. You can add your own material. Three short guide demos explain stable time steps, the three kinds of edge and how to read contours.
🔬 Hookar Finnik is for students, teachers and anyone curious about how heat moves through different materials. Try a plate, change one thing and see what happens. Open Hookar Finnik and start painting.
