About this app

Tokena (formerly Umeme Plus) is a fast, reliable and convenient solution for tenants, business premises (Fremu za Biashara), apartments, and other users of electricity sub-meters.

📢 When you buy LUKU, you get tokens worth the amount you paid, for example, TSh 5,000 is equivalent to 14.0 kWh Units. You enter the token into your Main Meter. But where you live, there are Submeters, and you also need to enter the same 14.0 kWh Units.

You decide to download Tokena App (Formerly Umeme Plus). This app allows you to convert those 14.0 kWh Units and generate new Tokens for your Submeter, with the same electricity value as the TSh 5,000 you purchased.

This service is available to all Submeter users. It is free to start, then you pay TSh 2,500 per month. Things to note: You need your Submeter Number, username, and password. If you don't have them, ask the person who registered your Submeter or your landlord.

How It Works

1. Buy LUKU: Purchase electricity units as usual and load the token into your Main Meter.

2. Get Your Submeter Details: Have your Submeter Number (Meter Code), username, and password ready.

3. Convert Units in Tokena: Enter your purchased Units (kWh) and Submeter credentials into the app. Tokena generates a matching token for your Submeter. For example, 14.0 kWh becomes a 14.0 kWh Submeter token.

4. Load Both Meters: Enter the original token into your Main Meter and the newly generated token into your Submeter.

Important Note: Your Submeter credentials are used to generate tokens and are not used for app account authentication.

If you do not have your Submeter details, contact your landlord, property manager, or the technician who installed and registered your Submeter.
