About this app

Knitting Row Counter helps you follow patterns, count rows, and remember exactly where you stopped.

Import the PDF knitting pattern or pattern image you already use, keep it visible beside your counters, and return to every project with your progress organized.

View your pattern while you count:
• Import PDF knitting patterns or pattern images.
• Keep the pattern visible alongside your row counters.
• Highlight important PDF instructions and follow your current row on pattern images.
• Use the original pattern as a visual reference while you knit or crochet.

Track rows, stitches, and repeats:
• Use a clear primary row counter for each project part.
• Add secondary counters for repeats, color changes, or other pattern steps.
• Set reminders that appear on specific rows.
• Use the built-in timer during knitting or crochet sessions.

Organize every project:
• Create separate knitting and crochet projects.
• Divide projects into parts such as the front, back, or sleeves.
• Add cover images and notes to projects and individual parts.
• Keep multiple works in progress organized in one place.

Create and follow knitting charts:
Work in a dedicated knitting-chart workspace. Draw a chart from scratch on the canvas, or convert an image into a knitting chart. Then follow it row by row and stitch by stitch while you work.

Helpful knitting tools:
Use built-in tools for common knitting calculations and conversions. Dark mode also provides comfortable viewing during longer sessions.

Keep your pattern, counters, reminders, and project progress together. Spend less time wondering where you stopped and more time knitting, crocheting, and finishing your projects.

So far I like this app but it's missing a couple key features for me. A highlight reading line. The app allows you to highlight in the PDF, but you can't move it up and down as you knit. You have to remove it and add it again. The other is a way to back these up in a cloud (Dropbox or Drive, so they can be printed out if needed. There might be some features you can't use though, unless you purchase. Which, by the way, the fee is refreshingly inexpensive and not a subscription!

Very helpful for the beginner. This is the third knitting row counter app I've tried. The first was so complex I couldn't figure it out. The second was basic, but severely limited how far you could go without paying for it. I'm knitting my first sweater -- a cardigan. The app makes it easy to track the row counts for each part. I even figured out how to track k2tog to reduce the sleeves. Good enough to pay for, and it's free!

So far, this app has been intuitive and easy to use. I'm in agreement that each project needs to be able to do more than 8 parts as sometimes pattern building requires more counters than that. I do love the timer aspect and being able to time myself. I'm not sure if there's a feature to time each section separately on the one-time pro version that adds up the total time at the end.
