Great game to pass time! The game is a bit hard to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's really fun! I see some people complaining about the difficulty, but that can be easily changed via custom civilisation start points on the map maker, or you can just change the difficulty to settler. There are no ads/microtranscations, and the game is honestly a really pleasant experience! 5/5 stars!

Honestly its a fantastic game. I've only been playing it for about a week so there's still a lot about how to play that I don't know. There's a few different play styles you can try. There are NO ADS and its a FREE game. I love the art style and its simple controls that give way to complex gameplay. Its not a full 5 because the tutorial is lacking and too vague. Use the in game unciv wiki, it'll help. Also the icons and words are very small so I hit the wrong troop sometimes. I love this game

About 100 turns into my first playthrough and loving it so far. It isn't the prettiest game ever but because of that it's fast and responsive. The game is free and requires no advertisements, log in, internet connection, and has no in game purchases as far as I've cared to look. Its games like this that make me miss flash games. If you like any of the Civ games, you're going to like this one. For the cost of literally nothing it's absolutely woth picking and giving a shot!
