This is obviously a reboot of the old app. It looks a lot more professional, but still does little. WMCA need to make up their mind whether this is a simple 'portable collector' which can update any old Swift Card, or whether it is tied to a particular account. I hope it's the latter, and that this new app is a replatforming to allow more comprehensive stuff to be added later. I'd like to see proper integration with m Tickets, and some form of automatic DaySaver capping. It would be good to have the app work /as/ a Swift Card in itself, with the phone essentially cloning the card. Compared with TfL Oyster, Swift looks decidely pauvre. Also, can we have an option to not have the app invoke itself when a card is brought near. I only want it to run when I tell it to, not sit listening in the background for any old NFC card to wake it up.
Angry. I topped up my card a week ago. Then for half a week I'm trying to top up my card and nothing. I ended up having to pay busfair for a week until I called the hotline number. They then told me to download the new app. How the hell are we to know there was a new app different to the old one. Then when I downloaded this version this one don't work at all either. I haven't got the time to keep travelling to the nearest town to use the reader. If I could give this app no stars. I would. I'm going back to normal bus pass. Less hastle. The programmers if this app obviously have no respect for us as consumers.
Swift and their App seems to be the worst project managed screw up I have seen. So 2 out of county train passes on top of the zone 1 to 5 rail travel by direct debit and no products showing on the card. Only £270 for 2 peices of worthless plastic that train conductors cannot read. The mobile phone app also cannot read any products on the card. However the travel centre can read the zone 1 to 5 but not the out of county. My advice continue to drive as this is a fantastic idea terribly executed!
The app works fine for me. I am using it for about a month or more. The only problem is with the swift card. If I try to buy a ticket minutes after topping up, will not do because of some stupid feature. Are you guys for real? Basicle, if I am with someone and I want to pay for both with my card, is that a fraud or what? Rethink this one ppl.
Didn't even know this new app was coming into play until just now. Topping up my card as usual and then it not loading from phone to card through NFC. Would have been great to be told I needed to download a new app. For what?
It's dreadful. I can open it find out how much is left on my card and then waste the next half an hour trying to make the check updates button work. The old app worked fine .
