Ad based. you get a small amount of time to play without ads to get used to the game. But not much. Then it stops mid game, several times to show ads. you lose your place and concentration. It is not exactly easy to tell what each item is. in fairness I'd say to not play on a phone. For me it's too frustrating to get through a level.

Update: l have emailed support with no reply for a week. I uninstalled and reinstalled.. now I lost my progress and my purchase. PLEASE DEVS ADD RESTORE PURCHASE BUTTON. After buying no timer now I am 2/4 on level 3, the game was stuck on stupid. there is a text bubble with nothing really in it as a pop-up and couldn't click past it. restarted game restarted phone...didn't want to but uninstalled.

Well I started playing this game through FreeCash. I couldn't deal with the constant ads so I decided to suck it up and pay the $4.49 for no ads. It worked for a few days but now, there's ads again. I reached out to customer support but they still haven't responded. This game had potential but it's just a scam. Don't waste your time or money.
