Take your driving to the next level with the R/TACH™ app! Seamlessly connect to your R/TACH radar/laser detectors, including models R4/R4w, R8/R8w, and R9/R9w, and effortlessly customize and fine-tune your detector settings.

When you pair your R/TACH detector with the R/TACH app, you'll receive real-time alerts directly on your Device Screen. Stay ahead of potential threats with instant notifications and easily control alert events like Mute and Mute Memory from your screen.

Drive with confidence using the Map Screen Mode, which provides location awareness for known red-light and speed camera spots. Mark User Locations on the map to get notified as you approach points of interest. Plus, enjoy Lifetime Free Updates to the red-light/speed camera location database with your Uniden detector.

Connect your R4w, R8w, R9w detector to your home Wi-Fi network (e.g., in your garage) to conveniently update your detector’s firmware and red-light/speed camera database. Simply set up your home Wi-Fi SSID and Password in the app's Wi-Fi Settings to stay current with the latest updates. (Note: R4/R8 users will need to download the R/TACH Tool from Uniden.com for free firmware and database updates.)

Could be much better! Uniden is kinda dropping the ball here. Here's what I'll say, they've had a while to develop this app. The core connection functionality works great, on screen alerts work, and the settings manager works. However, this app would really start being good if they can add audio to the alerts on the app. Please let us pass through audio in the future. Additionally, having alert history displayed on the map would be a very nice addition, so you can go back and look later. 🤞🤞

Uniden, please listen to feedback and fix issues. the pixel 9 pro Bluetooth issue is not resolved. this makes the companion app and the ability to update over WiFi useless, which is the whole point of R8W. the Bluetooth is horrendous. it took me 4 attempts to connect the first time, and that's the only time it ever successfully connected. now it just says no radar detected and toggles my Bluetooth on and off constantly. this issue is not isolated to the pixel 9 phones either.

I really enjoy this app in combination with my R8w. It allows me to adjust my detector's settings on the go as well as update my firmware without having to remove the detector from its mount. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone with a Uniden detector. By doing so, they will be opening an ease of operation they can only wish for without it.
