Each player has each side of pits and an end zone to the right.
The goal is to get the most of the stones in your end zone.
The game takes turns choosing one of the pits on your side of the board. All the stones in this pit is then picked up and distributed one by one in each of the following pits, always counter clockwise towards his end zone and in a continuous circle.
After reaching the end zone, the remaining stones will be put in the opponents pits. If there are enough stones to reach your opponents end zone it is skipped, and you continues on your side again.
If the last stone ends up in your end zone, you get an extra turn.
If the last stone ends up in one of your own empty pits, and there are stones in the opponents pit right across (optional), they are captured along with the last stone, and put in your end zone.
The game ends when one of the players run out of stones in his pits. The other player get all the stones remaining in his pits (optional).
