Upright Science includes a comprehensive gait assessment feature with three distinct test modes, each targeting a specific aspect of movement and mobility:

• Walking Test — Analyses the user's gait pattern during a standard walk, assessing key biomechanical markers based on the walking environment and contextual conditions.

• Running Test — Evaluates gait mechanics during a run, capturing movement data and key performance indicators specific to running dynamics.

• Dual Task Test — Assesses cognitive-motor function by combining physical movement with a simultaneous cognitive challenge, revealing how well the brain and body coordinate under real-world conditions.

Each test mode includes:

📊 Clinician-Led Monitoring
Upright Science is built around the clinician-patient relationship. Your assigned clinician receives your balance and gait assessment results, activity data and vitals — giving them everything they need to build a personalized exercise and wellness plan tailored to your condition and goals.

If any reading or pattern raises concern, your clinician can respond and adjust your plan in real time — before a fall happens.

📲 Health Connect Integration
Upright Science integrates with Android Health Connect to give your clinician a complete picture of your health between assessments. The app reads the following data — only after you grant explicit permission:

• Active & total calories burned
• Step count and movement cadence
• Distance moved
• Movement speed
• Exercise sessions
• Wheelchair pushes
• Heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV)
• Sleep sessions

This data is synced securely to your clinician every 4 hours over encrypted HTTPS. It is never sold, never shared with third parties, and is used solely to support your clinical care within the Upright Science platform.
