"Go to Yamashiro in Nishi-Harima" is an application that introduces the Yamashiro left in the Nishi-Harima / Naka-Harima area in Hyogo prefecture.
Please enjoy the appearance of the former Yamashiro that was recreated by examining it from historical materials and remains.

Hyogo Prefecture boasts one of the largest number of castle ruins in Japan.
Especially in the Nishi-Harima area in Hyogo prefecture, there are abundant mountain castles that are not known nationwide but are very spectacular.
The "Go to Nishiharima Yamashiro" app was born from the desire to let people in the know know the charm of Nishiharima Yamashiro.
The Nishi-Harima area is composed of local governments (Ako City, Aioi City, Kamigori Town, Sayo Town, Tatsuno City, Shiso City, Taishi Town), and in this app, carefully selected mountain castles in each local government are selected in order. I will introduce it.

● Rikan Castle (Sayo Town)
It is a mountain castle built on Mt. Rijin at an altitude of 373 meters located in the center of Sayo Town. Terumasa Ikeda, who entered Harima after the Battle of Sekigahara in the 5th year of Keicho (1600) after the residence of Mr. Akamatsu and the vassals of Mr. Ukita entered the castle in the olden days, made a major renovation under the name of his nephew Yoshiyuki. I did.
Although it has collapsed severely at present, it still conveys the appearance of a large castle on the mountain where high stone walls remain.

● Kanjosan Castle (Aioi City)
It is a mountain castle built on Kanjosan at an altitude of 301 meters in the northern part of Aioi City.
It is known that Norisuke Akamatsu, who was the lord of the castle during the Kenmu era, was given a letter of gratitude by Takauji Ashikaga after welcoming the approaching forces of Yoshisada Nitta and stalling for about 50 days. I am.
After that, during the Warring States period, a major renovation was carried out, and the castle of the total stone wall that remains today was built.

● Shinonomaru Castle (Shiso City)
It is a mountain castle built on the mountain top of 324 meters above sea level in Yamasaki-cho, Shiso City, commonly known as "Ipponmatsu". It was built by Mr. Akamatsu in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, and then Mr. Uno entered the castle. There is a theory that it was the "Yamazaki Castle" where Kuroda Kanbei, who became the lord of Shisō District, fell after the castle fell due to the attack of Hideyoshi Hashiba in 1580. Many ridge-shaped pits still remain well, mainly in the northwestern part of the castle ruins.

● Tatsuno Kojo (Tatsuno City)
Tatsuno Kojo was built by Akamatsu Murahide on the summit of Mt. Keirozan at an altitude of 211 meters. The castle was opened when Hideyoshi Hashiba invaded Harima in 1577, and Hideyoshi's vassals took over the post of castle. During that period, the castle was renovated, and many of the castle structures and stone walls that are currently seen were rebuilt during this period.

● Shirahata Castle (Kamigori Town)
It is a mountain castle built by Akamatsu Enshin to meet the revenge army of Mr. Takauji Ashikaga who fled to Kyushu in the third year of Kenmu (1336). Due to the achievement of stopping the Nitta army in this Shirahata castle battle, Enshin is entrusted to protect Harima of the Muromachi Shogunate. Since then, Shirahata Castle has been watching its rise and fall as the residence of Mr. Akamatsu's breakthrough. Even now, countless Guo and Yamashiro remains remain in the vast mountains.

● Amako Yamashiro (Ako City)
It is said that the castle was built by Amago, who attacked Harima around 1538. The steep cliffs and rock masses are exposed on the west and south sides, and it is thought that the very solid terrain remains as it was at that time. In addition, the view to the south is very wonderful, and you can see the Seto Inland Sea and the Ieshima Islands.
