UroFace Companion is a secure mobile application designed to support identity verification and onboarding for face-recognition–based attendance systems used by educational institutions.
The app enables registered students and teachers to complete identity verification through live facial capture, short video recording, one-time password (OTP) authentication, and location confirmation at the time of registration. These measures help institutions ensure accurate user identification and reduce misuse of the attendance system.
Location data, camera access, and verification information are collected only during authorized registration and verification activities and are used solely for institutional authentication purposes. The app does not collect data in the background beyond its intended functionality.
UroFace Companion is intended for use by authorized educational institutions and approved users only.
UroFace Companion collects limited user information only during the registration and verification process initiated by an authorized educational institution. The collected data may include:
Personal identifiers (name, institutional ID)
Facial images and short video recordings (for identity verification)
One-time password (OTP) verification data
Approximate location at the time of registration
Purpose of Data Collection
The collected data is used exclusively to:
Verify user identity during onboarding
Transmit verified user details securely to an institutional server
Enable synchronization of verified data with designated attendance kiosks
The app does not support attendance marking and does not record attendance events.
Data Handling
Data is transmitted securely to institution-controlled servers
No data is shared with third parties for advertising or analytics
No background data collection occurs outside active registration workflows
Data retention is governed by the respective educational institution

Camera Permission
Why it is required
Camera access is used to capture live facial images and short verification videos during user registration to prevent impersonation and ensure accurate identity verification.
When it is used
Only during user-initiated registration and verification flows.
Location Permission
Why it is required
Location access is used to confirm the presence of the user at an authorized registration site (such as a campus or enrollment desk) at the time of onboarding.
When it is used
Only once during the registration process. The app does not perform continuous or background location tracking.
