This game is a digital learning APP designed in collaboration with the Department of Learning and Media Design of Taipei City University and the Taipei Municipal Zoo in conjunction with the 110th anniversary celebration - "Tapir, Guard You - The Endangered Species Malayan Tapir", which is described by the game content Basic knowledge about Malayan tapirs, the crisis situations and solutions they encounter, and construct relevant concepts for conservation awareness.
We live in a world closely related to the natural environment. Each species plays a unique and important role on Earth, and together they form a rich and diverse ecosystem. Due to factors such as habitat loss, excessive logging and road kill issues, many animals are facing unprecedented threats and are already facing endangered issues. Protecting animals is a major responsibility and one of the most urgent issues.
To this end, the team cooperated with the Taipei Municipal Zoo. The theme revolved around Malayan tapirs and two issues, namely over-logging and road killing. In the context of their sharp decline in numbers, we designed an APP. From the perspective of the protagonist, learners can deeply understand the situation of animals, try to solve the crisis of habitat destruction, complete interactive content, and pass levels to save them from disappearing. The advancement of the APP story and the dialogue between the protagonist and the animals add interest to the story, and penetrate into the world of animals from the protagonist's lens. I hope that learners can arouse empathy for animals and learn about them during the game. Protect this common home of nature and animals.
In the story of photographer Ian's adventure with Malayan tapirs in a dream, children can learn about the basic knowledge of Malayan tapirs, encounter crisis situations, solutions and the construction of conservation awareness through interesting stories and simple games. They can learn about the plight of Malayan tapirs and learn how to put conservation concepts into action.
