Utumba POS is the companion point-of-sale for Utumba Stores—built for ringing up sales efficiently on tablets and handhelds alongside your Utumba storefront.

Designed for staffed checkouts:
• Lightning cart flow with clear totals for tax, discounts, and line items suited to Utumba-connected catalogues (as provisioned by your retailer).
• Barcode scanning integration for fast SKU lookup via the camera where you rely on barcode-driven retail.
• Flexible payment experiences—whatever your storefront enables (for example retail cash tenders, merchant-configured rails, remote payment flows that generate QR or links depending on rollout).
• Digital receipts presentation you can optionally share onward through the device OS share sheet.
• Reliable operation when connectivity wavers—sales can be captured locally inside an encrypted on-device vault and synced with Utumba when the network stabilises again.
• Connectivity awareness so clerks aren’t guessing why a queue stalled when the WAN drops.
• Real-time signalling over WebSockets when deployed with Utumba backends that surface live updates alongside routine HTTPS APIs used for auth and settlements.
• Works in portrait and landscape so countertop hardware stays comfortable.

Operational note
Staff must authenticate via Utumba-issued identities for the authorised store—the POS is intentionally not anonymous shopping checkout for the general public browsing Google Play unsolicited.
