Huzarion is a memory and choice arcade game, where the field consists of closed cards that can hide gates or empty positions. The player chooses a card, the ball moves towards it and only after hitting it is the content revealed. The goal of each level is to find all the hidden gates before running out of lives.
In Huzarion, each level is built with a new grid. The first two levels use two rows, levels three through seven use three, while the final stages switch to four rows. The number of columns also increases from two in the first level, to three, and then to four, gradually expanding the number of cards.
The gate positions are randomly selected each time a level is created. Their number increases with progress and is also affected by the difficulty. Easy uses one less gate than the standard configuration, Hard one more, while Medium maintains the base number. The game always ensures that at least one empty card remains.
Each choice in Huzarion is accompanied by an animation of the ball traveling towards the card in a short arc. The card then spins and reveals its symbol. If there is a gate there, it is marked as found and remains open. If the card is empty, it also remains revealed and cannot be chosen again.
A found gate increases the combination by one and adds points according to the current level and series. The formula is 120 points multiplied by the level, plus 40 points for each step of the combination. This means that finding several gates in a row without error gradually increases the value of each correct choice.
Huzarion gives two trials without loss of life at the beginning of each level. When an empty card is discovered, one of these trials is used first and the combination is reset to zero. Only after both have been consumed does another empty choice remove a life. The number of trials restarts at two after moving to the next level.
Each level also has a timer. Easy starts with 26 seconds, Medium with 19 and Hard with 13, while the time decreases by 900 milliseconds for each level after the first. The system does not allow the time limit to fall below eight seconds. If the time runs out, a life is lost and the combination is cleared.
After the time expires, Huzarion does not rebuild the grid. Cards already revealed, gates found and remaining positions are saved, while the meter restarts with the full time limit of the current level if there are still lives. This allows the continuation of the same configuration without losing the information collected previously.
Easy starts with four lives, Medium with three and Hard with two. The difficulty also changes the speed of the ball animation: 460 milliseconds in Easy, 360 in Medium and 260 in Hard. The number of gates varies according to the same configuration, making the field simpler or more busy.
When all the gates of a level are found, Huzarion adds 300 points multiplied by the level number. Then a short break appears and the next grid is created with new cards and random positions. The combination is reset to zero, while the score and lives are saved.
Pausing stops the timer and blocks the choices on the field. After resuming, the game resumes with the same time remaining and with all cards in the state they were in before the break. Switching the application to the background automatically activates the same pause.
Huzarion's interface shows the score, the best record, lives, the number of remaining trials and the current level. The record is updated locally as soon as the score exceeds the best saved value. The game also includes sound control, volume, several sound styles and three visual variants of the field.
Huzarion contains a total of 10 levels. With progress, the dimensions of the grid increase, the number of hidden gates increases and the available time decreases. The conclusion requires combining memory for revealed cards, managing two trials without penalty, and quickly selecting the remaining positions.
