where we eating? find out before you sit down.
Cooked? turns NYC's official restaurant health-inspection records into something you can actually read at a glance. Every spot gets a verdict: clean, kinda mid, or straight-up cooked.
SCAN THE BLOCK (the fun part)
Point your camera down any street and health grades float over each storefront in real time. Walk, pan, and watch the bubbles line up with the doors. It's the fastest way to know what you're walking into before you walk in.
WHAT ELSE IS INSIDE
- Search any restaurant and get an instant traffic-light risk verdict
- Map view with color-coded grade pins for your whole neighborhood
- Full inspection history, including what they actually got dinged for
- Neighborhood leaderboards: the cleanest spots and the most cooked
- Shareable grade stickers for the group chat
- Save your favorite spots and check back anytime
THE TEA, TRANSLATED
We turn dense inspection codes into plain English. "They've got roommates (mice)." "Cold food kept too warm." You get the real story, not bureaucrat-speak.
WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM
Every grade comes straight from NYC Open Data's DOHMH Restaurant Inspection Results, the same A, B, and C letter grades the city posts in restaurant windows. Grades reflect the city's most recent published inspections and can change over time. Cooked? is not affiliated with or endorsed by the City of New York or NYC DOHMH.
NO ACCOUNT, NO NONSENSE
No login. No ads. Nothing tied to your name. We use your location to find nearby spots and aim the scan bubbles, and your camera for the block scan (it stays on your phone). Saved spots live only on your device. We use anonymous analytics to make the app better, never to track you across other apps.
NYC ONLY (for now)
