Restart – Auto Reboot Scheduler is a safe, simple tool for routine device maintenance. No root access is required. It is designed to automate restarts for non-rooted devices, but it can be used on rooted devices too.

At the scheduled time, the app uses Accessibility Service to open the Android power menu, then simulate a tap on Restart (or Power off, if selected).

This automation is the only method available for non-rooted devices to perform a scheduled reboot. This method can also be used on rooted devices.

Important Privacy Note: The Accessibility Service is used solely for the purpose of interacting with the system power menu to automate the restart. The app does not access, collect, or share any personal content or system data.

⭐ Additional use case: Power-off timer

Many users like to listen to music or watch videos while relaxing in the evening.
If you prefer your phone to turn off automatically after you fall asleep, this app can also be used as a power-off timer.

Instead of selecting Restart, you can configure the app to tap the Power off button in the system power menu. This allows your device to shut down automatically at a scheduled time—ideal when playing audio or video before bedtime.

To enable this, simply instead text on Reboot buttons, enter the text shown on your device’s menu Power off buttons in the required setup fields.

Ratings and reviews

It's a great little independent app that does one thing and does it well, with no data mining or other BS. I removed a star because the UI needs some work, for example the color scheme is not very good. I struggled to get the timer function to work until it dawned on me that I hadn't selected the days of the week. But it's not clear when a day is active or not. Light gray/dark gray, but no explanation of what is what. The set-up instructions are thorough but confusing. But it works!

It took some work, but after working with the settings in the free version, I got the test to work, and decided to upgrade to the full version. I'm not a fan of rooting devices so this is the only way to auto reboot since this version of Android on my phone lacks the auto restart my previous phone had.

it does what is says on the tin, with some caveats. for example, the phone has to stay unlocked in order to work, and i would love if the app sends a notification a few minutes prior to restart, so we could cancel it in case we're in the middle of something and do not want the phone to restart.
