• Dark Chess — fog of war; you only see the squares your pieces can reach

MAPCHESS — BUILD WHILE YOU FIGHT
Variochess's signature variant. Every game starts with an empty board. Placing squares, developing pieces and attacking all happen in the same turns, so the battlefield grows while you are already fighting over it. Unbuilt squares are off-board, so the shape you make decides which lines ever open. No two games ever look the same.
