This application helps the general public authenticate BEAC banknotes from the 2020 series. With a banknote from the 2020 series, users can authenticate it by comparing the security features on the banknote with those illustrated in the application.
Users can authenticate the banknote by looking at the following security features with the naked eye, as illustrated in the application: watermark, incomplete pattern, banknote number, security thread.
Users can authenticate the banknote by feeling the raised print on the sign for the visually impaired, the denomination, the CEMAC logo, the BEAC headquarters building, the face value of the banknote in letters and the inscription ‘Banque des Etats de l'Afrique Centrale’ (Bank of Central African States), as illustrated in the app.
Users can authenticate the banknote by tilting it, as shown in the app, to observe the dynamic 3D pattern that gradually changes colour as the banknote is tilted and the security thread with a dynamic effect.
Users can authenticate the banknote by placing it under a UV lamp to see, as illustrated in the app, the CEMAC map that appears in place of the watermark, the two-colour fibres and the fluorescent outlines of the scene.
