About this app

VedaVaaNi: The Voice of the Vedas

Immerse yourself in the world’s oldest continuous oral tradition. VedaVaaNi is a meticulously engineered, ad-free learning tool designed to help students, scholars, and practitioners master Vedic chanting through highly precise, interactive audio alignment.

Whether you are beginning your Santhai (repetition) or performing daily Parayana (reading), VedaVaaNi bridges ancient tradition with modern technology, allowing you to learn hands-free with perfect pronunciation and intonation.

Features included in this major update:

The Complete Krishna Yajur Veda

Massive Library: Access the entirety of the Taittiriya Samhita, Brahmana, and Aranyaka.

Smart Teleprompter: Experience our fluid, auto-scrolling "Reading Window" that smoothly tracks the audio phrase-by-phrase, allowing for completely hands-free practice without losing your place.

Manual Override: Instantly pause the auto-scroll with a touch to read ahead or review complex Sandhi rules, then tap to seamlessly re-sync with the audio.

The Rig Veda Samhita

Word-by-Word Sync: Follow along with millisecond-precise, syllable-level audio highlighting.

Dual Renditions: Choose between two distinct, high-fidelity vocal recitations to match your preferred learning style and pitch.

Authentic Swaras: Text is rendered with mathematically accurate Vedic tonal marks (including traditional Swarita markers) for perfect phonetic clarity.

Advanced Learning Tools

Dynamic Speed Control: Slow down complex passages without distorting the pitch, making it easier to grasp difficult phonetic junctions, or speed it up for rapid revision.

Multi-Script Support: Read the original Sanskrit in Devanagari, or toggle seamlessly to multiple regional scripts and English transliteration to suit your native reading comfort.

Offline First: Download your necessary Anuvakas or Mandalas once and practice anywhere, completely offline.

VedaVaaNi is not just an audio player; it is your personal, digital Guru-Kulam for mastering the Śruti.

The Audio-Synced Teleprompter is easily the best feature. The text scrolls automatically in perfect alignment with the chants making it incredibly easy to follow along even if you are a beginner. It significantly helps in mastering correct pronunciation and Vedic accents! Yet another wonderful feature is the facility to adjust the playback speed which is truly a game-changer when trying to learn complex mantras at your own pace. Kudos to Prathosh and his team. Request, add sAma & atharvaNa also.

Thank you for making this app. It helps a lot to people like me who are not in the traditional path of learning away from Guru and Gurukula. One suggestion (I am just nitpicking to make the app better), while listening to Taittiriya Samhita I noticed that the scrolling of the mantra on screen is faster than the audio, can you please correct it. This was not an issue with Rig Sukta paatha. Kudos to the team for their efforts🙏.

Very good initiative. An app to learn saswara vedam. Except "deergha svarita" other intonations like "anudaatta", "udaatta", "svarita" are a bit difficult to distinguish just by listening. Try to provide a note with examples. Or by musical notation in svaras.viz, sa ri ga ma.
