About this app

The Velemjáró application aims to promote the use of the Hungarian language in Slovakia. It is a tool for enforcing our language rights. A settlement directory, settlement error report, glossary and a simple guide to everyday administration, with lots of useful information.

SETTLEMENT DIRECTORY
You can browse and search for settlements on a map or in a list. You will find their most important data: contact details of the mayor's offices, the composition of their municipalities, statistical data, historical names, famous natives, etc.

LANGUAGE USE GUIDE
You can find out about the possibilities provided for in the law for using the Hungarian language. You can get answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding the use of minority languages. You can view the relevant legislation, the text of which you can show to officials who are reluctant to grant you language use rights.

REPORT A LANGUAGE VIOLATION
You can report by attaching a photo if you experience a violation of the law concerning the use of the Hungarian language, or if the public administration bodies have not ensured the use of your native language. You can also track the status of your report and add comments to them.

REPORT PUBLIC PROBLEMS
If you live in a settlement inhabited by Hungarians, you can easily document and report the problems you have experienced in your living environment in Hungarian by attaching a photo. The reports will be forwarded to the competent city or municipality office, which will handle them directly.

GLOSSARY
You can quickly search for the correct Hungarian equivalents of the most frequently occurring Slovak administrative expressions. This will make it easier to handle your official affairs in Hungarian and to formulate your submissions in Hungarian.

ADMINISTRATION GUIDE
You can find out about important information related to administrative procedures. You will find a clear and Hungarian-language description of individual procedures, procedural rules, deadlines and fees.

LEGISLATION
You can read the provisions of important laws in Hungarian and Slovak. You can switch between the two languages ​​in the text of the legislation with a single finger movement.

For the application to function fully, an internet connection and the use of location data are required for the accurate localization of notifications.
