About this app

VeliKey Messenger is private 1:1 messaging with end-to-end encryption you don't have to think about.

- End-to-end encrypted. Messages are encrypted on your device and can only be read by you and the person you're talking to.
- Forward secrecy. Every message uses a fresh key (X3DH + Double Ratchet), so a key compromise can't unlock your past conversations.
- Minimal retention. The server stores messages only as opaque ciphertext until they're delivered, then deletes them. No plaintext, ever.
- No account, no tracking. No phone number or email required. Add a contact by scanning their QR code in person (or sharing a contact code). No ads, no analytics SDKs, no contact-list upload.
- Quantum-ready. On supported platforms, conversations are protected by a hybrid post-quantum key exchange (ML-KEM-768), rolled out centrally with staged canary cutovers — no app update or user action needed.
- Built on VeliKey Aegis. Messenger is a working demonstration of provider-managed cryptography: the operator can upgrade the whole fleet's cipher suites centrally, without an app update.

Camera permission is used only to scan a contact's QR code; frames are processed on-device and never recorded or uploaded.
