Speedometer is a simple GPS speed app for daily drives and rides in World. It shows your current speed from satellite fix so you can keep an eye on how fast you are moving without guessing from the car dial alone. You get both kilometre per hour and miles per hour so visitors and locals can switch what feels right.
Trip distance and trip time stay on screen while you move. When you stop a run it goes into history with top speed and average speed so you can look back later at short city hops or longer highway runs. History is stored on your phone and you can delete single trips or clear everything when you want a fresh start.
The in app map shows your route on the phone itself. You can open a past trip on the map to see where you went and how the path looks on real streets or satellite style view depending on what you pick in settings. Map needs location permission and internet for tiles so please keep data on when you use map heavy screens.
HUD mode is there for night drives when you want the speed digits reflected on the windscreen. Use it only when it is safe and legal where you drive. Brightness and phone placement matter a lot so adjust before you roll.
Speed in notification is optional. Turn it on from settings if you want live speed and trip info in the status bar while you use other apps or when the screen is off. Android may ask for background location for steady updates. You can turn the whole thing off any time from the app or from system notification settings.
Route animation lets you replay a saved path and export a video style clip for sharing with friends or keeping for yourself. Export can take time and needs free storage space. It is marked beta in the app so expect rough edges on some phones.
We show ads to keep the app free. You will see Google AdMob banners in some screens and a short rewarded flow before HUD in the normal setup. You can open ad privacy choices from the menu where the system allows it.
Location, notification, and battery settings are explained inside the app because Android 13 and newer is strict about permissions. If trip line looks jumpy you can try intelligent filtering options in settings. None of this replaces a certified speed gun or legal evidence.
Privacy summary lives in the app and on the store policy link. Core speed and route logic runs on device. Third parties like Google ads and map servers see normal network traffic as described in the policy.
Install if you want a light speedometer with history, map, optional HUD, notification speed, and export in one place. Leave a rating if it helps your daily commute or weekend ride.
